Mount Soledad
is a distinguished landmark in La Jolla California. The mountain top is the site of Mount Soledad Cross. It is located between Interstate 5 to the east and Pacific Ocean to the west.
The cross is visible from the surrounding neighborhoods of Clairemont, La Jolla, Pacific Beach and Interstate 5. The Soledad South neighborhood is located to the southeast on Mount Soledad. The views are often expansive to the night lights of the south and eastern mountains. The south eastern slopes of Mount Soledad encompass many La Jolla home with views of either to the city lights, bay, ocean and hill sides.
South Soledad neighborhood has some affordable values and nice planned communities.

On October 2007, couple of homes on Soledad Mountain were destroyed by major landslide. Some houses were damaged as well.
