The Marina District is downtown San Diego's ideal location for those seeking an urban area that offers both a vibrant lifestyle and a relaxing oasis. Downtown San Diego is the hub of San Diego's legal, banking and government industries. The defense and tourism industries, of course, continue to fuel the local economy. New urban projects are being developed every day by the Center City Development Corporation and the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan. Near-future plans include two new parks within the neighborhood, including a waterpark and Ruocco Park to be added on the bay, a multi-million dollar expansion of the existing San Diego Convention Center that will make it the largest in the west and new world-class restaurants will make San Diego the world-class city it should be. Include near-perfect weather year round and it's the ideal spot to visit, make a second home, or live permanently.
